The News of the World had reported that he had been cheating on his wife Stacey with 28-year-old sister-in-law Natasha before she began dating his younger brother Rhodri Giggs. It said Giggs slept with Natasha the day after his eight-year-old daughter was born, and again the day after the arrival of his four-year-old son. The affair was alleged to have continued until April 9.

“When I found out he was cheating with Imogen too, I was really hurt,” she told the News of the World through a ‘friend’.

Obviously Giggs is being milked for more money by his lawyers who are advising him to take more action but it has to be clear to him that this is only generating more interest around the World (cue the Streisand effect), and the best he can wish for now is just for the super injunction to stay, though with the Internet nearly everyone can now find out who he has been shagging on the way to another title.

It remains to be seen if such a court order will hold fort since it was issued in England, and Twitter is primarily based in the US.

Savage donned the gloves to face a penalty that was sent over the bar and insisted: “I’d have saved the penalty because I was diving the same way. You can call me Robbie Southall – I’m just a natural sportsman.”

Derby boss Nigel Clough said: “Robbie wasn’t getting a kick in midfield so it was best he went in goal.
