WE2010 How To: Load Option Files

With the PS2, Winning Eleven (or Pro Evolution Soccer) made it a breeze with patches and all that. The PS3 is however a different ball game, so here is how you can update it with the latest transfers, kits & club logos.

Installing basic option files for PS3

Download the option file of your choice (usually compressed version)
Use either WinRAR or WinZip to unzip it.
Find the PS3 folder, which should contain folders for the jerseys and an option file
Copy the whole PS3 folder and its sub folders, to a pc formatted usb stick (Note that the PS3 folder has to be located on the root of the drive. eg. H:\PS3)
Plug the USB drive into the PS3
Under the game menu in your PS3, look for the save data utility
This folder should contain all the saves for your games
Delete all existing WE/PES edit data/kit pngs (if you want to keep your save cups/leagues/bal, etc just leave it)
Find the usb device (or similar) at the top of the menu
Enter and you should see all the pes files (an edit data file, and many images of kits)
Press triangle on one and copy that to your PS3 (your main user profile on your PS3)
Repeat this for all the files (yes unfortunately there is no easier way to do this!)
Ensure that you have deleted your old option file and copied the new one over
Load your game
PES/WE will create new user system data (unless you also kept your old system data which you can)
Edit data will load automatically. Start playing with your new kits & emblems!

Installing Chants on PS3

You need to create a “playlist” at your PS3 XMB called KONAMI_PES with no spaces (when you have typed that in your onscreen keyboard, don’t press start because it will automatically add a space at the end of it, instead press L1 3/4 times then press start)
Go to your USB device in XMB music, press X, then Triangle to “dispaly all”, files will be in MUSIC folder.
Copy chants to KONAMI_PES playlist.
Start game, go to chants, mp3 library, all your chants should be in there.

Winning Eleven 2010 (or Pro Evolution Soccer) brought a whole new level of difficulty to taking penalties in the game, here is a guide on how to put them in the back of the net.

Eleven 11 No More

If you’ve seen Winning Eleven 11 on the streets, at shops in Sim Lim, or wherever, please do not buy for its simply a patched version of WE10. It has been tentatively named Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, and not WE11 or whatsoever. The Gaming Convention in Leipzig will allow gamers to test out the new game. Anyone kind enough to sponsor me to go?

Important note: Japanese games will only work with Japanese PS3 sets, and similarly for European sets.

This is the only reason I need to get a PS3 … PS. I’ve been waiting over a year for this news to come out!

PES 2008 will be released for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), PC-DVD and Nintendo DS in Autumn.

The technicalities of it all:
1. Edit mode fully featured in next-gen versions.
2. Brazil and Portugal national teams fully licensed.
3. Increased number of stadiums including Dragao Stadium (FC Porto).
4. Konami promises it will be a true next-gen experience.
5. Proper facial animations and shirt pulling.
6. Kits that flow and crease as the players run around.
7. Watermarks from sweat and rain appear on the player as the game continues.
