When Potato was younger, she was locked in the kitchen when nobody was home to prevent her from tearing up the house (after of which she eventually did when we let her roam when we were not home), but there was an occasion or two where she really did hit her face on the glass partition. Fortunately she wasn’t that dumb to smash her face that often.

The actual fact is that Shih Tzus have a short, somewhat flat face. Because of this some Shih Tzus snore, breathe heavily, snort, or make other weird noises. Potato belongs to this breed, so she’s actually more like a pig that snorts all the time.

On a recent visit to the vet, Potato had a run-in with the glass, literally. Intrigued by the dog that was heading out of the clinic, she eagerly rushed to try and follow the dog out, only to be greeted by a loud thud. Fortunately, she knew not what embarrassment was – though my sister did, as the whole clinic was chuckling at how Potato ended up with a flat face.
