Another strategic view

Google Street View is said to have covered 95% of Singapore, there goes our privacy, but then again what privacy when we are already a country full of monitors, being monitored by a 7 digit number. Singaporeans are just not adversed to privacy, having gown accustomed to it growing up. Google, of course promises privacy.

Stalking will never be the same again

Privacy, is of course ensured by blurred images, but sites like Google Street View Sightings and Google Street View Gallery just goes to illustrate the time people have on their hands with sightings of camels, R2D2, cleavage, crimes in progress, babes suntanning, Steve Jobs’ car, Mrs Doubtfire’s house, and within a day or so, Singapore ladies.

About Google Street View
Google Street View is a feature of Google Maps and Google Earth that provides 360° horizontal and 290° vertical panoramic views from a row of positions along the street (one every approximately 10 or 20 metres) for many streets in the world, from a height of about 2.5 metres. It was launched on May 25, 2007, and has gradually expanded to include more cities, and in these cities more streets, and also some rural areas. These photographs are currently available for the United States, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. Coverage is shown by dragging a “pegman” icon from its position, onto a map of any scale.
