Here is a job most Singaporeans would love, being paid to queue up for the launch of the iPhone. In the capital of Poland, Warsaw, actors are actually being paid to line up to front the queues.

“We have these fake queues at front of 20 stores around the country to drum up interest in the iPhone,” a spokesman said.

In Singapore, a certain Mr. Joel Pan actually started queuing up nearly 12 hours before the launch of the iPhone at SingTel’s Comcentre building. Kiasu-ism? Not really, he would probably be able to find a job in Poland.

Well, I was on paid leave when I was queuing up. Does that count? In any case, the Orange Telecom story has been (naturally) subsequently denied by Orange. Which may or may not actually mean anything as to the veracity of the story.

Haha that sounds like a great bargain, since technically you are still getting paid in some form or another ; )
